Title
Play Props: A Girl Riding a Horse
Subject
Leisure Time
Description
Scenery made by German prisoners of war in the internment camp. This piece is painted on discarded cardboard cartons, flattened out. It is for use in the prisoner' production of "One Thousand and One Nights." They write and produce their own plays (search "Writing a Play" for photo). This privilege is proof that America was honoring the articles to which they subscribed at the 1929 Geneva Convention regarding treatment of prisoners of war.
